Mark Your Spot

Hello everyone!

It's that time of year again! I love the fall. School is in, the colors of the season change, the cool evenings and the holidays are on the horizon. With the beginning of the school year I am always on the look out for great hand made teachers gifts. With our school opening back up next week I wanted to share a little gift I am creating to toss into those teacher's baskets.

The wonderful thing about this project is that it is small enough to begin to use up those scraps you have been saving all year. It's quick and easy and useful too, thanks to the Helamr Quickfix Adhesive Runner! Check out this how to video.

Don't you just love how easy these are? I love that I can use up some of those extra stickers too. I have seen these created as page monsters for the kids with teeth and eyes as well as something more elegant with some embossing powder and decorative scissors. Play with it and have a great time. Don't forget to use the Helmar Quickfix Adhesive Runner to make this project even easier!

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue...

I've heard it's been said, Helmar 450 is... THE GO TO GLUE!

Hello everyone!

It's me, Grace. I am back today to show you a paper rose tutorial. This is one of my favorite flowers to create. I love making these for altered items or hair pieces etc. I thought I would show you how to make this style of spiral rose because the key to a good end result is biased on the glue you use! Guess what? Helmar 450 is the go to glue to use!

Don't they look great? I love how they turn out and how easy they are to create with Helmar 450!

Decorating Doors with Helmar

Hello everyone! I am so excited to share with you today a sign I made for my dear daughter. Last month I shared with you all a sign I made for my son's bedroom door. My son loved it so much and my daughter envied it as much so I had to make her one also! Best Creations "Ballet Princess" papers made it so easy!



Like a lot of girls her age she is into ballet and all things pink. She absolutely adores this sign. The ballerina has been fancy cut out of the Best Creations "Ballet Princess" line and I added a tutu with some Helmar 450. Look at all this wonderful glitter. That all came on the paper, perfectly sealed and no flaking!


The sign is an MDF base shape that I got a long time ago on clearance. I used Helmar Premium Craft Glue to adhere the paper to the sign. Then, I layered Helmar Crackle Step 1 and Step 2 over the paper. I ran a dark pink chalk ink over the edges to highlight the crackle. I really LOVE this stuff!



The Best Creations line "Ballet Princess" also has some wonderful sayings and signs. This frame was blank and I added some stickers to title it Trinity's "Studio". The stickers were white and I painted them with some Smooch. I love changing things up! I used Helmar's Liquid Scrap Dots to raise and adhere the stars and Helmar's 450 to adhere the flowers, the eyelash ribbon, beading and grunge board letters.

One... Two... Three

Nikki Sivils is fun for me! Here we have some fun Flash Cards I made from the Nikki Sivils line called "It's Raining, It's Pouring". I started off with a blank empty tin and created these cards to fit inside with some of the her adorable patterned papers and white cardstock.

I used Helmar Craft Glue to adhere the paper to the top of the metal tin and the finer pieces of the images on the cards. Then the Helmar's Quick Fix Permanent Adhesive Runer to glue the papers together for the cards.

Nikki Sivils provided some fabulous stickers to adorn the front of the tin. I really love these letter stickers that come as part of the line.

The flash cards images were created with a little fancy cutting. Nikki Sivils pages are just full of these adorable images in multiple sizes!

A Penny Saved, is a Penny earned...

Hello Everyone!
A few weeks ago I posted a project where I recovered my extreme coupon binder. Today, I am showing you a project that is an extension of this one.
This is my coupon cabinet. I bought this at a garage sale for $15 can you believe it? I love this small cabinet to contain all my coupon goodies. Inside one of the doors it had a white board that had marker on it that would not come off! So I decided to recover the white board... of course!
I was so excited to use the new Maya Road Cloth Dress Form, and of course I just love the Helmar Crackle over the template, from The Crafter's Workshop, I used to make the center design. Not to mention, I was so excited to create a paper dress after seeing them at the winter CHA. I just wish this one was bigger so I could make it more detailed.

Here is the before of the cabinet...

I took off the stickers with the Helmar Adhesive Remover (test this in a hidden area to make sure it is good for the surface you will be using it on), cleaned it up and spot stained the scratches.
Here is how I recovered this door. First I lightly sanded the white board and cleaned it with water and a towel. Once it was dried I began the adhering process, with Helmar Craft Glue because it works great on metal (that is what a white board is made up of). Be careful, this is a solvent glue and sometimes can damage surfaces like the finished wood! If you are concerned please test it in a small area you don't normally see. Or be very careful with how thick you put it on this project and where you put it.

Putting several strips of Helmar Craft Glue up and down the length of the paper then fallowing it quickly with the next step before the glue dried.

Using a Pampered Chef pan scraper (I have a few of these in my scraproom) I smoothed out the glue under the paper. Then repeated these two steps until the pages were fully adhered to the white board.
After embellishing the background and using stickers for my quote, I created a fun paper dress on the Maya Road Dress Form. I just love how it turned out. I love it so much I will probably make a larger more detailed one. I just fell in love with this idea from CHA! In this photo you can see a bit of the layers of crackle and the puff paint I used to add depth to the center design on the background.
