Owlery Cupcakes for a Harry Potter Party - post #10

Good morning everyone!

Welcome to yet another one of my Harry Potter Party posts, #10 I believe. For a complete list of current posts see the bottom of this one for more links. Today I am going to be showing you all these adorable cupcakes from our Owlery tower in honor of Hedwig.

This tree like cupcake holder was found at a yard sale for a couple of dollars. It was a votive candle holder. I took out all the glasses and added some brown floral wire under each of the holder spots. This allowed the cupcakes not to slip through.
We used the fallowing to make these:
  • Cocolate and White cake mixes for the cupcakes
  • WHITE - cupcake liners (we wanted the colors of the cake to show through)
  • Butter Cream iceing
  • Oreos - many sizes and flavors
  • M&M - one bag (not snack size)
My mother was so kind to put these together for me while I worked on the Golden Snitch Cake. Here she is putting on the M&M eye balls. For a some up close photos of these adorable cupcakes please see Pure Delights Baking Co. Owl Cupcakes Post.

Here is my son and then daughter picking out his and her cupcakes. So cute!

I think this was the first moment of silence during this party. Hehe! They were enjoyed by all 37 kids! (I know I am nuts... but 37 is better then 42 that RSVP'd)

I hope you enjoyed this post, please leave a comment below and fallow this blog to ensure you see the rest of the updates and new party posts. Thank you for your time today.

Margarita Cupcakes - DELICIOUS

Hello everyone,

My craft project today was in the kitchen. Yup baking more cupcakes. This time it was for our friend's birthday and he LOVES his margaritas! So naturally I had to make him margarita cupcakes! I used the cake recipe from this site here and the icing from here.

I have to admit that I added a splash of Grand Marnier to the icing though it did not call for it and it was AMAZING!

Make sure you brush the cooled cupcakes with Tequila!

They were not strong of course but they were so delicious!

Dr. Seuss' Birthday!

Happy birthday to Dr. Seuss, he was a huge part of my child hood and a huge part of my children's also. My daughter just the other day finished reading her very first book all by her self, Green Eggs and Ham.

To honor his birthday I created some cupcakes for my kid's classrooms. Two different Dr. Seuss books were the themes.

Cat and the Hat(Thing 1 and Thing 2) :

Green Eggs and Ham:

If any of you are interested in a how to on these I would be happy to type it up (I took photos of each stage) but if not that is cool too. Just let me know in my comments.

Thanks for checking in!

Brought to you by the letter "C"

This was my FB post today...

"This weekend is brought to you by the letter "C"
Cars Cake complete - (check)
Cupcakes complete - (check)
Clean myself up - (check)
Coach Cheer game - (Check)
Catnap - (check)though it turned into more of a Coma state for several hrs.
Clean House - (need to do)
Collect Drinks for tomorrow - (need to do)
prepare for my CROP - (need to do)"

I am exhausted from this weekend already, yet excited about finally hosting another crop at my house.

This week I have been on the go since Tuesday. Yet, I agreed to bake a cake for Tristan's teacher's son. He is turning two and today was his birthday party. They requested chocolate cake, and vanilla cupcakes both with butter-cream icing. Their party theme was Cars and they gave me free reign on the design... I was so excited to create this cake. I love a good challenge. Here are some pics of the cake and cupcakes.

She said she loved the cupcakes I made for her birthday and brought to class for her. It makes me so happy when people appreciate my craftiness and request it again. Here are a few of pictures of her birthday cupcakes...

Well I better get moving. Have a great weekend!
