Wedding invitations

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing with you a little project close to my heart. My sister's wedding invitations. These beauties are held together by none other then Helmar Acid Free Glue. I love this adhesive because it is made to have flexibility to it once it is dry.

This made it the perfect choice to use on this project where adhesive had to be used in the folded areas of this invitation. There is no puckering, no waves in the paper... yet all of this was adhered with a liquid adhesive! Impressive... I sure think so.

Helmar Acid Free Glue is in my top three go to adhesives. I chose it because I make so any unique items that sometimes require some flexibility. Here is a fun fact: This glue was originally created as a book binding glue. It is meant to withstand abuse and time.
Have a Happy Helmar Day!

Helmar 450 Quick Dry and Decorating on a Dollar for Easter/Spring

Hello everyone,

I hope your weekend it going well. I have so much to do I apologize for there being a week in between posts.

Here is an Large Robins nest project I created for a window display. It is made from Ostrich Eggs and the nest is put together with Helmar 450 Quick Dry.

I just love this stuff. I used moss, feathers and floral stems to glue down onto a plate shaped basket from the $1 store.

I can see this as a great center piece!

Black doors? Need your Opinion, please!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today is a quick post and I have been admiring for some time now black interior and exterior doors on Pinterest. I find it to be sophisticated. I need your opinion. I have a few of the doors in my home that are tall. Most are normal but these few are in the main area of my main floor. I got the wild hair in me last night... I had a brush, a can of black paint (left over from my bed make over, it's almost done and will be posted in the next few weeks I hope) and a door with sharpie all over it... so ...

I need to make this decision because I need new hardware and with white doors I was going to go with oiled bronze handle knobs and with the black doors I can go with silver (WAY cheaper even with the cost of paint factored in).

Ya... I am digging it but the Hubby needs to be convinced. Please, be aware that this is only one coat and is a high gloss so it needs another coat tomorrow. I want to do all of the doors in my home and the garage too. Am I nuts or just brave enough to pull it off? Opinions please! Hehe!

Rose Art from an Altered Hard Back Book

Hello everyone,
Today I am going to write about outside inspiration. This post though it has a project made from Helmar is not my personal original idea. I found this idea on Pinterest, the link was a general link to a photo blog (not to an exact post) I spent hours trying to find this original artist because I found their work so intriguing. Alas... nothing was found and my life and family demanded me to return from cyberspace.

This book page rose is called "altered book art" it is a simple form of the art and if you ever want to see very extremely detailed pieces just Google the quote above and look at the images. With all this said this has been a very popular piece at in my window display I design for a local book store.
It was all created with a little distressing ink, one hard back book, Helmar 450 Quick Dry and Liquid Scrap Dots.

Thank you all for reading and I hope you enjoyed this little post about this project I couldn't get out of my mind. Hats off to the person out there who thought of doing this with a book. You inspired me, whoever you are!

Margarita Cupcakes - DELICIOUS

Hello everyone,

My craft project today was in the kitchen. Yup baking more cupcakes. This time it was for our friend's birthday and he LOVES his margaritas! So naturally I had to make him margarita cupcakes! I used the cake recipe from this site here and the icing from here.

I have to admit that I added a splash of Grand Marnier to the icing though it did not call for it and it was AMAZING!

Make sure you brush the cooled cupcakes with Tequila!

They were not strong of course but they were so delicious!
