Just me and my Dad and the Ducks

I love these pics of my Hubby and our son. They were taken on Fathers Day in 2005. The pond is on the Air Force Base near by. Tristan just looks so cute with that little yellow vest and the overalls. It was such a beautiful day. The ducks would not stop fallowing them around it was hilarious.

Details:

Top Left:
In this shot you can see the dimension of this LO. I really layered up and out. The other thing I would like you to notice. The strip of white is one piece of a card stock sticker boarder. I glittered it with yellow glitter glue and highlighted the lines with my gold Zig pen. The Sail boat is also a Card Stock Sticker that I used both the yellow and iridescent glitter glues on the sail and the star. You can see the scalloped boarder used behind all the PP and the smaller photo. I used the gold Zig pen to put dots in the center of each scallop and distressed the edge with a brown ink.
Bottom Left:
I this shot I would like you to notice the stitching I have done along the edge of the striped paper. This is my first time stitching on non cardstock and I would do it a bit differently next time... like pre punch the holes. I doodled on the Chipboard star also with the gold pen... that is my favorite pen ever...lol. You can only see it slightly but all the green dots with glitter glue and the golden color dots with the gold pen.
Bottom Right:
The flowers are slightly altered with coordinating glitter glue and buttons in the center are tied with the same thread used in the stitching. The buttons are dotted with gold form .... yup you guessed it ... my gold Zig pen. The frog and the stars are also a Card Stock sticker and his eyes have the irridecent glitter glue. The green grograin ribbon is actualy a paper scrap I have and I just cut the strip from it. I also added the tan sattin ribbon.
Other:
The title is a bunch of different letter and phrase stickers. I love the many different fonts and the way it was arranged.

Thanks for reading and viewing. I hope you enjoyed the details and the LO. I hope you can gather some ideas for inpritation.

Thanks!

God Cre8ed a little angel

Welcome back. I am excited about this one. I have been wanting to scrap this photo for ... well ..years.. Oh my it has been that long. She is now 4... they grow up so fast.
Details:
Top Right: I like to major elements in this shot. One is the creative way I used the word "cre8ed" and how all the titling is different. Some are just inked and some are stickled. I took a coordinating brown marker and edged each letter to give them something in common and also did the rhinestones on every other one for the same reason. The other thing I would like to point out is the spring green stickles on the Back Ground paper. I did this by hand inspired by the beautiful papers at the store the cost an arm and a leg...hehe. So I created my own!
Bottom Left: These are grunge board angel wings by Tim Holts. I inked them white and then stickled them with an iridescent glitter glue. I added the bling once it dried and the flower is Prima with a button from one of my daughters old outfits. I love scrounging for unexpected items in the house... hehe.
Bottom Right: This is a close up of the clock on the BG paper. This was just a circular architectural element and I took my brown pen and gold and silver marker and went to town creating the outlines of the clock and the hands of the clock and stamping the numbers. I first stickled the hands then colored over them to give some texture with a solid color. I have worked more with detailing the background then before. I am enjoying highlighting and creating elements from the PP.
Thanks for Looking and please leave me a comment to let me know what you like best.
Have a wonderful day.

I want to...

Welcome back! Here an another sketch that Liz over at The Scrappiest Blog came up with for this week. Isn't it great! I was very excited to get this one started. I had tuns of challenges on this however. I am not really a large circle person so that was hard for me to layer up like I always do. I decided to do this in black and white too which is completely new for me. So wow, lots of "new stuff" but I think I pulled it of ok.
The photo of me was taken a few years back when we lived in Tucson AZ. I am actually watching my son play and one of my Best Friends sapped it of me before I could protest. I just love the way I am looking off into the distance... kinda pondering life. Therefore I thought it would be fitting for this subject... "My Bucket List". Now many of you who know me might say what my Hubby said..."your not terminally ill! Why a bucket list?" Well first off it was brought up by a challenge on the Scrapbook.com site and second... as I replied to him "you never know when your last day may be... healthy or not". So on that note I hope this finds every one of you healthy and strong and inspired to think of what you might want to do in or with your life.

THE BUCKET LIST - I want to...

Like I mentioned earlier. I have never done a entirely black and white Layout. This is my first. It was such a challenge for me to see the proper layers that I had to design it on the computer first then create it with paper. Now for the Details.

Details:

Top Right: This is a great close up of some of the computer work I did for this LO. First off I created the bucket list, bingo style card and printed it on vellum. I am really happy with the way this title turned out. I used MS word and the word art program in it to create the title. The other piece of "digital" work in this Layout is the swirl background paper. I arranged a bunch of clip art flourishes to create this beautiful pattern. I did this because I was in need of a third pattern in black and white for this Layout. I also love this butterfly. I found these in the wedding decoration department at my local craft store and it just adds such a shimmer to the center. It really draws your eye right where it needed to go. I just added a bit of rhinestones and edged it in black. The bucket list reads: Visit Europe, Visit Japan, Visit Hawaii, Get published to inspire others, Own a Home, Take Dance again, Loose weight, Learn to be Optimistic, Be with the Love of my Life, Swim with Dolphins, Own a horse and Scuba Diving.

Bottom Left:
This is a great close up of the computer generated flourishes I printed on vellum and just cut them out and placed some bling on. The Flower was so easy and I loved how it turned out. I took the scraps of the Patterned paper I used through out the layout and cut three petals of each. I alternated them and edged them with black ink. I took a clear polka doted flower sticker and backed it with a piece of black card stock. I adhered the petals to the back of the black card stock. I folded the outer half of each petal and added an epoxy flourish sticker as the center. Also I just want to note that I love these little black flowers from Prima. I added the white pearls on wires for the centers.

Bottom Right:
Here is another new technique for me... Notice the top layer of the large circle. Look closely at the edge of it. I used a hand held hole punch to create this textured edge. I then inked it black so the the top left of the layout you could see it as it is white on white paper. I also love these tile letters I used for the title. The folded ribbon was bought that way if you know me at all you know I DO NOT sew. Hehe. The inspire frame in the bottom corner is an old embelishment I had.

Thanks so much for looking at my work I am happy to hear how you like or dislike something I post in here so please leave me comments so I can learn what works or doesn't. I hope you all have a wonderful day and thanks for looking!
