More crafty goodness...

Hello again! I was so excited to share with you this cute new spring topiary that I created with the clover pattern from my last post for my St. Patrick's Day Blog-a-log with Scrapbook News and Review. This was a really quick and easy project. Let me tell you the clover/flowers are much faster when doing them assembly..hehe as if they were not quick and easy enough! Please watch the step by step slide show in the St. Patrick's Day post below to get instructions on how to create these made in minutes flowers.

Thanks for looking!

"Top o' the morning to ye"

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!
"Here's Céad Míle Fáilte to friend and to rover" That's a greeting that's Irish as Irish can be, it means you are welcome a thousand times over wherever you come from, whosoever you be. I would like to welcome you all, my new friends to my day of Blog-a-Log with www.scrapbooknewsandreview.com. The wonderful people at SNR have allowed me to share a bit of myself with you during their Spring Fling. I had the luck of the Irish with me when they assigned me the 17th of March! I do have to admit though I am not Irish but I have always enjoyed the holiday.

Did you know?
In Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day, people traditionally wear a small bunch of shamrocks on their jackets or caps. Children wear orange, white and green badges, and women and girls wear green ribbons in their hair. (According to Kaboose.com)

So in honor of this tradition I would love to show you a little project for you to create yourself and add a little bit of Irish fun to your day. Even if you don't think you are Irish, you never know, over
34 million Americans have Irish ancestry, according to the 2003 US Census. That’s almost nine times the population of Ireland, which has 4.1 million people.
You just might have a bit of it in ya yet.

What you will need:
Green, White and Orange Ribbon or fibers
Green CS or PP Heart Punch 1" or larger

MADE IN MINUTES! Here is a little step by step slide show with audio for you to view. I hope you have fun and enjoy!

Facts about Clovers - (According to Kaboose.com)

  • According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the highest number of leaves found on a clover is 14!
  • One estimate suggests that there are about 10 000 regular three-leaf clovers for every lucky four-leaf clover.
  • Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something: the first is for hope, the second for faith, the third for love and the fourth for luck.
  • Clovers are associated with St. Patrick's Day because St. Patrick himself used to use them in his sermons as a examples of the Holy Trinity. Three separate entities combined into one.
I want to thank you for spending a moment of your St. Patrick's Day with me and I hope these ideas have inspired you to "create" a bit of your own luck. Please don't leave me with an "Irish Goodbye" or I wont know you were here.

Happy

This is the fourth sketch provided by Liz form The Scrappiest Blog. I rotated it 90 degrees due to the fact I have more horizontal photos then vertical. I had a hard time thinking of how to do this one and it put me a bit behind... well for me it was. I pushed the deadline on this one just to the last minute. I still made it in time though and I love the results. It was worth every last second of detailing and glitter gluing. I hope you enjoy it.
These are some of my favorite candid photos of my son Tristan when he was a baby. They were taken in the fall of 2002 and he is dressed up in his Bronco's jersey... Don't be a hater... it was my Hubby's doing and I am a Raider fan. Some cute expressions on his face as he explored all the things around him that day. We were living in Tucson at that time and I was a SAHM then too. I miss him being this little and he is growing up so fast into this little man. He has such a big heart and his smile has not changed a bit.

Details:

This one is a bit more simplistic then I usually do so I did not take any close ups. If you need to look closer you should be able to click on this image and it will enlarge.
Products:
95% Cosmo Cricket. I just got this "Lil Man" Set in last week and love every page and embellishment. The five percent not CC is the butterfly, the caterpillar and the green, red and goldenrod yellow card stock.
Background:
I started with the green card stock and inked the edge. The next layer is plaid and is punched with the fiskars rope edger. Then we have the stripe at the top and bottom. This was also distressed with a green ink from Stampin' Up. The ribbons were layered over the stripe and placed next to one another to create a thicker ribbon element on the page. The bouncing ball paper was backed with a red card stock and the edges were softened with green chalk. I took orange and green glitter glue and applied it to every area in this paper that matched the coordinating color.
Photos:
The photo mat is a goldenrod card stock cut to only edge the top, bottom and a larger right side. This was cut to provide me a solid light colored area for my journaling, which I did in green. I added the ball ribbon on top of the two outside photos. I glitter glued the balls on the ribbon like I did on the ball background paper. I then added some other Cosmo Cricket coordinating embellishments.
Embellishments:
The Caterpillar and butterfly/moth are so stinking cute I had to add them. They remind me of new life and that is just what he was in these photos as he went exploring around the room seeing new things. I glittered these both with glitter glue and loved the result.
Title: These are chipboard from the Basic Occasions set. I love the different fonts used and I chose the pieces and then covered them with the small examples that Cosmo puts on the cover of their kits. This provided me with smaller versions of the coordinating paper so the over all pattern on each sheet showed up better on the lettering. I sanded them and edged them with a green marker.
Thank you so much for viewing this LO and I hope you all enjoyed it too. I had so much fun doing this LO once I got started.
